Can I take a pain reliever?

As long as it is an over the counter pain reliever that you have taken before. I don’t think it will hurt anything. I am not entirely sure it helps either, but some clients swear by it. I do not encourage prescription pain pills. They are not necessary and are not worth the risk.

Can I use a topical pain reliever?

If you want to! Just make sure to test it before to make sure you do not have an allergic reaction to it. Also, just let us know if you have on a topical pain reliever. We will need to give you a hot towel before we begin to wipe off any residue that may be on the hair. The sugar is water soluble. Any moisture on the hair will cause the sugar to not adhere.

How long should my hair be?

The hair should be at least 1/4 of an inch long. About the length of the end of a pencil eraser.

Should I put moisturizer on so my skin is not dry?

If you put on moisturizer be sure to let us know. We will need to give you a hot towel for you to wipe off any residue that may be on the hair. Again, the sugar is water soluble so any moisture on the hair will cause the sugar to not adhere to the hair. We also use baby powder (talc free) to dust the skin before every service.

Should I trim the hair?

If it has been a while since you have done any maintenance you might want to trim. If you are not sure, wait until your appointment and just ask if it needs to be trimmed before we start. It is not a big deal, we can trim it!
